PACU CREDO
PACU Credo, 1932 The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU), as a national, non-political, and voluntary educational association of national and international standings, founded in 1932 by a group of Filipino educators, stands committed to:
- Filipinism in education.
- Democratizing access to higher education, especially for the middle and lower classes of Filipinos, from whom may come the future leaders of the nation.
- The attainment of the educational goals and objectives in the Constitution.
- Educational reforms and innovative programs for national growth and development.
- The right to enjoy institutional autonomy and academic freedom.
- Institutional excellence and quality standards in all levels of education geared towards preparing the Filipino not only for income-oriented career but also for his development as a whole man.
- Self-reliance upon indigenous Filipino culture, resources and capabilities to maintain national integrity and achieve economic progress and prosperity.
- Participatory democracy as the firm foundation for policy formulation and decision making on basic educational issues.
- Maintaining good international relationship and understanding through education in the firm belief that since war is created in the minds of men, so must its causes be averted through peace and goodwill towards all men.
These are the bedrock upon which the PACU stands. These are our commitments to education for our people.
